Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Policies
We attempt to borrow most items. Whole issues of journals, genealogical materials, dissertations, & a/v may be difficult to obtain. Due to copyright restrictions, articles may be borrowed once only. Books & other materials needed more than once will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. We do not borrow textbooks for classes. Visit our Interlibrary Loan page.
Who can use it?
All currently enrolled UWG students, faculty (active and emeritus), and staff.
How long does it take?
The average turnaround time is 8 working days, often less for articles. Please allow us enough time to process your request & receive the item. You will be notified by email when your items arrive. Books are held at the Circulation Desk. Articles are delivered to your ILLiad account.
Turnaround Time & Delivery
Average turnaround time is 8 working days, often less for articles. Please allow us enough time to process your request & receive the item. You will be notified by email when your items arrive. Books are held at the Circulation Desk. Articles are delivered to your ILLiad account.
We charge a standard $100 replacement charge for most lost items but reserve the right to pass on any additional charges from the lender.
Return loans to the Circulation Desk with the label or bookstrap attached. If you are a distance learner, please use the postage-paid return label included with your item. Please return all materials on time.
Submit renewal requests through ILLiad on or before the due date. Renewals are granted by the lending library only. You may keep the book until we provide you with the new due date or request that you return the item. We will send an email to you with the new due date.
Items accrue overdue fines of $1 a day after the due date. Items that are declared lost will accrue a $100 replacement charge (we reserve the right to charge more based on the lending library's charges). We reserve the right to suspend ILL borrowing until all fines are paid.
The ILL office cooperates with the copyright guidelines of the federal government & individual publishers. We may turn down requests due to copyright restrictions or charges. We will attempt to refer you to a location where you can obtain the item.
